The Freelance Web Designer - A Dying Breed

When I first saw the internet I was astonished at its potential. Having a newsprint publishing background, I was able to quickly understand that it was only a matter of time when having a website would not be a choice decision, but a mandatory one if a business was going to compete in their marketplace, whether it be local, statewide, national, or worldwide.

At that time I was the Marketing Director for a successful 7 figure plus a year remodeling construction firm. We handled all of our marketing in house, producing all of our promotional materials that was anchored by our own Home Improvement Monthly Newspaper which was delivered to the driveways of 10,000 single-family homes each month.

After recognizing the potential of the internet I was able to see the necessity of our firm expanding to the internet. Keeping with our established policy of in house marketing production, we elected to produce our own website. Believing in doing so, it would provide us with the same flexibility of our newspaper. The problem, however, was none of us knew anything, whatsoever, about producing and maintaining website. How bad could the learning curve be anyways?

To cut a long story short, I, after a considerable learning curve, was able to accomplish my goal of becoming a webmaster learning 5 different programming languages. In fact I enjoyed it so much I became a freelance web designer and have design a considerable number of sites requiring a varying degree of skill levels from the simple five page site to complicated community portals.

The sad truth, however, is that with each passing day, the need for the freelance web designer is diminishing as technology advances. Recently I read a blog post somewhere which was specifically challenging the need for a designer at all.

The author, a successful consultant in his field, stated that after several years of frustration with finding and maintaining a designer he could depend on, he researched the possibility of managing his own site making use of one of the many open source content management system (CMS) that are out there. The entire article was concerning the fact that not only was he able to locate a CMS which met all his needs and more, but how with a minimum learning curve he was able to produce a quality site for more flexible and interactive that what he had receive from the designer.

Having made use of several of the open source scripts out there in my development, I had little to do but to agree with the author. In fact, in my own design business I have gone almost exclusively to using open source programs for my clients.

For the same money charged, I am able to provide my clients with a far more effective and interactive site. In fact, being CSS based and template driven, the majority of my income now a days is derived from training office personal to administer the site in house, which is how I got started in the business in the first place.

Additionally, as the ability to store more and more information on the head of a pin increases, web hosting companies are being forced to develop and offer more and more point and click web development tools designed specifically for assisting the business to be able to produce and publish their site in house to attract and maintain business.

The writing is on the wall. While there will always be a need for Freelance Designers because there will always be those businesses who have no interests in managing their site in house, with the ease of all of the point and click development out there, with more and more coming out everyday, the market is shrinking daily.

My philosophy is simple if you cant beat them, join them. While I dont expect my business to fall of the face of the earth tomorrow, I have do recognize the need to shift emphasis from primarily designing sites to primarily counseling and training businesses to maintain and administer their own site in house.

golf is becoming an increasingly popular sport worldwide, but it is estimated that there are 27,000 golf injuries every year that require hospital treatment and that millions of dollars worth of equipment is stolen. Yet an independent survey claims that 9 out of 10 golfers have insufficient golf insurance.

Golf Swing Traing Dust - How Does it Work

Simple - golf Dust will help your accuracy golf training because you can tell if you are actually hitting the golf ball exactly on the sweet spot. This is significant because hitting the sweet spot will give you maximum distance and accuracy.

We hear golf pros talking about the sweet spot all the time. What exactly is the sweet spot? The sweet spot is the area of the clubface that will deliver the maximum force through impact. It has to do with a law of physics that says force equals mass times acceleration. Use the force Luke.

When the golf club strikes the golf ball, there is some resistance that actually decelerates the clubface. Its actually a slight shock that you barely feel, unless of course you hit a fat shot and take a deep divot. Most of that shock is absorbed in the shaft.

Now back to creating accuracy and maximum force. The golf club is designed in such a way that a certain area of the clubface will absorb the maximum amount of shock. Hitting the sweet spot means you lose the least amount of force because the club experiences the least deceleration possible. Again, force equals mass time acceleration. The more force you impart to the ball, the farther it will go.

Now lets say you hit the ball off the toe of the club - youll hit a weak shot that goes to the right. Youve lost power because when the club impacted the ball, the club actually twisted slightly in your hands and decelerated. You lost accuracy because the shock of impact caused that slight twist in your hands and caused the ball to go to the right.

Its simple to demonstrate how the sweet spot works - Get out a putter and try this:

Grab your putter and hold it up in the air between two fingers. Now tap it on the center of the putter blade youll see an indicator where the sweet spot is located.

When you tap the putter on the sweet spot, youll see how it absorbs the impact and bounces straight back. From every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Now try tapping the putter on either end of the putter face. See the difference? See how it wiggles? Did you notice how it didnt go back as far?

So how can golf Dust translate to golf training accuracy and shooting lower golf scores? If you learn to consistently hit all your putts on the sweet spot, youll putt the ball in the hole more often. The ball will roll straighter and its easier to control the distance because youre impact force will always be the same.

golf dust can help your putting because you can quickly tell if youre hitting the sweet spot or not. It youre hitting it off the toe, youll either be missing a lot of putts right and short or youll be overcompensating in your swing.

With irons and woods, the results of Golf Dust are even more dramatic. For example, if you spray golf dust on your driver, you can quickly tell if youre hitting the ball too high or too low on the clubface. This can let you know if you should raise or lower your tee for optimal impact.

Simply hitting the sweet spot with your driver can increase your distance by 10 25 yards. The more important thing is that it will help you hit more fairways and get closer to the pin with your iron shots.

How to Catch Bass Fish Successfully Every Time

Bass fishing is an enthralling sport. Every one will aspire to come out successfully in any sport or game. To be a good angler one should know the information that is discussed below.

Depth of the water

Any water body will have three layers. They are deep layer, middle layer and surface layer. The surface layer will be warmer than the middle layer and the middle layer will be warmer than the deep layer.

Before heading for the bass fishing you need to know the existence of the three layers and should be able to find out the temperature of the three layers. Thermometers can be used effectively to measure the temperature of the different layers of water.

Bass fish prefers comfortable temperature. Hence in hot weather condition the bass fish will remain in the deep layer as it will be cold. During cold weather condition the bass fish will try to remain in the middle or top layer.

Temperature of the water

The metabolism of the bass fish is influenced by temperature of the water. There is no second opinion that bass fish can withstand temperature fluctuations better.

Bass fishing can be done thorough out the year when the temperature of the water is around 70 -75 degree Celsius. The bass fishing is possible even when the temperature is around 32-39 degree Celsius.

Clarity of the water

Bass can survive well in both clear and murky water. Bass fish tries to remain in the deeper water for most of the time. They tend to come to the top layer only for feeding and reproduction.

Bass fishes are highly sensitive to vibration and noises. Hence you need to keep the place as quite as possible. Any kind of noise will scare away the bass fish. It is better to reach the selected place without much of disturbance to the water and stay put and goes for deep water bass fishing.

Time of the day, effect of sunlight and color or the prey

Experienced anglers feel that dawn and the dusk are the best time for successful bass fishing. The best feeding time for the bass fish is dawn and dusk. The bass can be lured with the live or artificial bait at this time.

The noon time is not at all suited for bass fishing because the bass stop feeding and go deep in the water in search of cooler place.

The bass fish are more attracted by the light colored fast moving prey. you can use light colored bait that moves fast or create vibrations, your chances of making the bass fish to strike and get hooked is bright.

However bass fishing can go on in other times also. The success depends on your strategy in attracting the bass fish to strike and get caught.

Change of season, time and other things

There are various opinions as far as best season for successful bass fishing is concerned. Some feel that fall of season is the best time for bass fishing.

The season is not going to be the same all through the year. There are so many other things like sun light, water movement, speed of water, direction of the flow etc. also change.

There is no fixed time and season for bass fishing. Bass fishing can be done successfully even during severe cold season [ice fishing] provided you also change your strategy and technique in line with the changes in the season climate and other things
